Oakland Park Improvements
Improvements to Oakland Park were identified in the 2002 Virginia Square Sector Plan and was subsequently included in the county’s Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). However due to continued deferral of the project within the CIP, the project was submitted as a Neighborhood Conservation project. This project was approved by the County Board and funded by General Obligation bonds in 2014. A project plan was developed following a community design process. Construction work was awarded to McDonnell Landscape, Inc. in April 2019 and started in June 2019 and completed and opened in December 2019.
