The Ballston-Virginia Square community is located in the heart of Arlington County, Virginia. The boundaries of the Ballston-Virginia Square Civic Association (BVSCA) are Glebe Road on the west, Kirkwood Road on the east, Route I-66 on the north, and Wilson Boulevard on the south. The Ballston-Virginia Square neighborhood contains a diverse mix of vibrant commercial and residential activity. Due to the vast array of older single-family homes and small low-rise apartments and newer condominiums and townhouses, our neighborhood achieves the feel of a true urban village community.
Our civic association participates in public meetings on important issues affecting our neighborhood. For example, we participate in County Board meetings, Arlington County Planning Commission meetings, Arlington County Civic Federation meetings, and Arlington County legislative hearings. The Ballston-Virginia Square Civic Association sponsors increased public participation in our community with formal surveys of our members on important issues affecting our community; candidates night debates; presentations by applicant representatives on proposed site plan and development projects; and discussions on issues of concern affecting our community (e.g., crime, taxes, bonds, parking/traffic issues, aggressive panhandling, and County spending priorities). If you are interested in joining the Civic Association, please go to our membership section for more information.
