Communications, Social & Membership Committee

This committee is charged to stay informed on Development issues and to relay relevant information back to the Association in a timely manner. Also the committee will develop and present resolutions and draft letters for Association action.

  • Assess possible channels to communicate with membership (e.g., NextDoor, Facebook, Twitter, email, etc.); may include conducting membership surveys.
  • Develop and implement communication plan.
  • Conduct membership drives; attend neighborhood events (e.g., Farmer Market, Quarterfest) to promote membership
  • Organize, promote, and staff social membership events.
  • Assist officers with membership communications as necessary.
  • Assist officers with membership management as necessary.

Other areas of focus identified from the January 28, 2019 breakout sessions may include: Outreach to HOAs, buildings, building managers, tenant associations. Outlets for communication- Use NextDoor, Arlnow, building and/or block representatives, neighbor listservs. Use Kiosk in Quincy Park. On what our message is- real role of BVSCA is to have a voice, power within the County, find friends and meet people within the community who have common ground. For an event- discussion about an event that’s ok to bring kids. Types of events suggested include wine tasting, coffee, fitness + wine, yoga, happy hour, pancake breakfast, something with Ballston Quarter or new bars/restaurants, pop up shop, concert at W-L, speakers at the Library.
