** Arlington CivFed Updates (Deep-Dive)
————————————————————
We are glad to now have four representatives to the Arlington Civic Federation (CivFed), who will provide updates on the most recent meetings, from which there are a number of highlights, including Senator Mark Warner speaking at the most recent CivFed Meeting (on COVID-related topics) and the following:
* CivFed Task Force in Governance and Election Reform (TiGER) has begun studying potential changes to the County’s governance structure and mechanisms of public input. Stay tuned for opportunities to participate.
* CivFed is now a Community Vaccination Committee Partner Organization. The County has asked for neighbors to help neighbors learn about COVID-19 vaccination. Some materials are available in multiple languages.

The CivFed Environmental Committee is proposing an additional resolution to “immediately update the Arlington tree canopy studies” last completed in 2016.
The resolution (http://www.ballstoncivic.org/3-16-21-proposed-resolution-preserving-tree-canopy-mwg-draft/) is available for review via BVSCA’s website.

** YMCA Redevelopment
————————————————————
We’ve learned about a concept plan (this is early stages, folks) for the YMCA redevelopment at Kirkwood and 13th Street. Neighbors Henry Staples and Paul Ashin will share information about what they’ve learned and this will be the first chance for members of BVSCA to provide initial reactions during this initial planning phase. Here are some documents to review on the site, as well as links to documents for the GLUP+ area and neighboring sites.
